I know it has been ages since I updated the blog, but it has just been a crazy spring and summer. Fun, though.
We just came back from a great trip to Lake Tahoe (see video) where I ran 27 miles in the mountains to celebrate my 40th birthday. I had originally planned to run 40 miles but that didn’t work out because my original running guide had to bail due to injury and my replacement was not as nutty as me. Just as well since it turns out running at 7,000 feet is not quite like running at sea level. Whew. But, the scenery sure made up for it. The best part of the trip was probably taking the kids and the grannies (that would be Nahnee and her best friend, Cathy) tubing down the Truckee River. I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard. Thanks, mom and Cathy, for the wonderful comedy. I wished I could have filmed it in its entirety, but at least I have few clips.
We also just hosted my dad and THAT side of the family for a week in Costa Rica. I knew the trip was a success when one of my nieces burst into tears a day after she left Costa Rica, saying that she missed Costa Rica and the boys. I have a video of the trip below as well.
We’ve recently gotten into SUP (stand up paddling) and we love it. I especially love it when the boys go on the board with me. They even have their own paddles. Usually, Finn ends up falling asleep on the board by the time we head home. I took them out today and we saw sea turtles, yellow puffer fish, lots of tropical fish and crabs swimming on the surface. A real treat.
Enjoy the vids!
